That should be an ideal setup as of now.

I never disagreed with what you said. But I accepted it. Why? Because we do not have many choices.

There is a good control panel as an alternative, but their occasional hiccups give me cold feet to fully deploy them. What you are doing with cPanel, I am doing with that to see how it goes. But I have to say, their developments didn’t instill much confidence.

My view is, the control panel industry heavily lacks competition. I thought the price hike would give the alternatives a boost, it did, but not to that extent to instill confidence. They have huge flaws in their design team, probably designers that have no first hand experience with web development with sites with real traffic. This rings alarm bells to the level that I sometimes shiver. And clients with heavy to moderate traffic sites, in other words, clients with sites that matter to them, didn’t like their faults and switched. It seems to me, the alternative control panel is only good for low traffic sites, not for the ones that you would depend on for your bread and butter. However, do not get me wrong, they have an amazing team, dedicated and focused. I just don’t get why they can’t control their design team.

I have to say that they are making monumental progress, in the setup process, documentation, and in many other sectors. I am sure they would try their best to overcome their shortcomings. I am sure you understood whom I am talking about, but let them remain unnamed.

The path cPanel is on, with its constant price hikes, is destined to become obsolete after some time. By that time, I am sure there will be more options, and I am looking forward to that, too.
